Abstract

This article analyzes the norms concerning the balance of crime and punishment in Burhanuddin Margiyoni's work "Hidaya." The main focus of the article is to explore the connection between issues of crime and punishment with the principles of justice, moral-ethical values, and modern legal systems. The principles related to crime and punishment in "Hidaya" are examined, including the role of qasas (retribution), diya (compensation), and hadd punishments, as well as their relevance in the modern legal context.
