Abstract

This article explores the nature of cultural metaphors from cognitive and linguocultural perspectives. It demonstrates that metaphors reflect national mentality, cultural values, historical experience, and symbolic worldviews. Cultural metaphors are viewed as conceptual mechanisms that shape human thinking and structure perception. Comparative analysis of English and Uzbek metaphors reveals similarities and differences in their conceptual models, semantic structures, and cultural motivations.
