This article analyzes the fundamental concepts of topographic maps and the system of key symbols that
determine their structure and content. It emphasizes the practical importance of topographic maps in landscape
design, and examines the definition of a territory's spatial structure through the cartographic representation of
relief, hydrography, vegetation, and anthropogenic features. It also explores the potential of using topographic
data to shape the internal spatial environment in landscape design, ensuring three-dimensional forms, mutual
harmony with the surrounding environment, and visual and aesthetic balance. The research results serve as a
methodological basis for landscape designers, architects, and design engineers in conducting a comprehensive
analysis of a territory and developing optimal design solutions.
