ATHLETE LOAN CONTRACTS AS A LEGAL INSTITUTION IN SPORTS LAW

The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the legal nature of athlete loan contracts and their role in sports law. It is substantiated that athlete loan contracts cannot be fully explained within traditional civil law or labor law frameworks. The study demonstrates that such contracts constitute an independent and complex institution of sports law, aimed at ensuring the continuity of an athlete’s professional career and maintaining a balance of interests among sports clubs. The article also reveals that, in practice, the athlete’s consent and legal status are often formal in nature, which contradicts the principles of fairness and stability inherent in sports law. Based on the analysis, scientifically grounded proposals are formulated to improve the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of temporary athlete loans.
